Ukraine has announced the commencement of large-scale manufacturing for an innovative locally engineered defensive UAV to enhance its air defences. The first three manufacturers have started manufacturing, with 11 more preparing to establish production lines, Ukrainian military officials announced on Friday.

'Octopus' Technology Proven in Battlefield Situations

These UAVs utilize a nationally created technology known as “Octopus” designed to neutralize Shahed drones. This technology underwent testing in actual battle and demonstrated successful “at night, under jamming and flying low,” officials stated. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy established a target of manufacturing up to 1,000 interceptors each day.

Recent Attack on Kyiv Characterized as Calculated

The Ukrainian president described Moscow's most recent assault against Ukraine as “intentional, calculated and wicked” following six individuals lost their lives and many others wounded in a wave of night-time strikes throughout Kyiv. Alert systems activated in Kyiv just after midnight this past Friday, with Shahed drones soon detected overhead and intensive defensive fire from Ukraine's aerial protection units.

Zelenskyy reported the country was targeted by 430 drones and multiple missiles. Those killed had been at home in a block of flats on the capital's left bank when it was hit. Dozens of other buildings were damaged, among them the diplomatic mission of Azerbaijan.

Diplomatic Protest After Diplomatic Compound Destruction

Azerbaijan announced it delivered a formal objection to the Russian ambassador on Friday after the embassy damage. The blast from a Russian Iskander missile destroyed a section of the embassy’s perimeter wall and resulted in significant destruction to the diplomatic compound, the Azerbaijani foreign ministry stated. There were no personnel was hurt, and a ministry spokesperson said the diplomatic mission in Ukraine was maintaining operations.

Moscow's Aerial Bomb Manufacturing Experiences Major Expansion

Russia intends to produce up to 120,000 guided aerial bombs in the current year, a senior Ukrainian intelligence official said, among them 500 of an innovative, extended-range model that can reach additional urban centers. Moscow's military have been launching 200 to 250 aerial bombs daily, with the previous month's daily average standing at about 170, according to official military statistics.

Kyiv's Strikes Focus on Moscow's Energy Infrastructure

Moscow's Black Sea port of Novorossiysk temporarily suspended crude shipments this past Friday – representing 2% of worldwide oil production – after a Ukrainian missile and drone attack. Ukraine’s general staff stated its forces had launched domestically produced missiles and deployed multiple kinds of strike drones in the attack on Novorossiysk “within the framework of operations to diminish the military and economic potential of the invading force.”

Ukraine separately targeted an oil refinery in Russia’s Saratov region and an energy depot in nearby Engels during the night.

Global Sanctions Impact Moscow's Energy Company

The number two energy company Lukoil announced this past Friday it has been in talks with potential buyers regarding its foreign assets following last month’s sanctions from Western nations and the collapse of a deal with the Gunvor trading house. “Final arrangements are to be disclosed once the final agreements are completed and required authorizations have been obtained,” Lukoil stated.

Zelenskyy Schedules Diplomatic Trip to Spain

The Ukrainian leader is scheduled to travel to the Spanish capital, the Spanish capital, next Tuesday to meet with parliament members following his visit to Paris, Spanish parliamentary officials announced. Zelenskyy will convene with deputies from both chambers of the legislature throughout his stay, the Spanish statement confirmed.
