Presence Film
Soderbergh pushes his film-making abilities with this nifty ghostly tale filmed completely from the viewpoint of the spirit. When a household including mother Rebekah and troubled teenage daughter Chloe settles into their fresh home, the camera – AKA the Presence – follows them around. The daughter appears conscious of the supernatural presence, and it looks like guarding her. However, the motive remains? The premise is enjoyable that avoids overstaying, with a twist you might not see coming. Saturday 11 October, afternoon and evening times, Sky Cinema

This Creepy Thriller
The director's locked-room horror remains effective even without a continuation. Located in 1970s Colorado, a series of child abductions has rendered the local kids on edge. When Finney gets captured by “the Grabber” and held captive in a dungeon, he fears a fatal end. However, the disconnected phone mounted nearby keeps ringing, with ghostly voices offering help, as the intuitive nightmares from his sibling Gwen could save him. An effective horror. October 11th, nighttime, Film4
The Eyes of Tammy Faye
In the conflict between God and Mammon, the winner is obvious for materialism in this director's delightfully tacky film adaptation of the disgraced televangelist and her criminal husband. Garfield portrays the greedy Jim, who declares early on, “God does not want us to be poor,”. The couple commence capitalizing on the American public's Christian beliefs. It's a spectacle of bad interior design, overdone appearance and hypocrisy, yet Jessica Chastain succeeds to depict Tammy Faye with compassion. October 14th, late night, the Film4 channel
