The Reform UK leader Accuses Teachers of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Race Issues

The political figure stated that educators would initiate walkouts shortly after a success at the polls for his party, charging that they are “harming young minds” by telling children that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and white children oppressors.

During an event for a Michigan-based religious institution, Farage outlined his perspective on British schools, claiming that the “radical left-wing” had “taken over schooling”.

“I expect a walkout by educators very quickly after securing a victory,” he remarked during a Q&A session.

“They are poisoning our kids. They are telling them to feel guilt about their nation. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is oppressed and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is an oppressor. They are dividing us, instead of fostering unity. They promote this negative culture.”

Reacting to Farage’s claims, the head of a major education union rejected the notion that the schools were under Marxist influence as “nonsense”. He pointed out that industrial action must relate to educators’ working conditions, and questioned whether Reform would attack these immediately upon entering government.

“The politician has crafted his political career on dog-whistle politics and currently, like Trump, he is lining up teachers and their organizations for a fight,” the union leader said.

“This is highly reckless. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he’s suggesting … If he were to lead the government he would sell out our public services, including education … and the outcome would be catastrophic for education and children.”

Reform, which tops surveys by a significant margin, has not set out much detail on a proposed education policy and seems not to have designated an education lead.

However, Farage’s remarks suggested the party would overhaul the educational framework. Farage declared: “We have got a massive job with education – absolutely herculean. Moreover, it won’t happen quickly; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”

Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Honoring a conservative activist, he commented: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to instruct people that multiple perspectives exist and they should decide for themselves rather than what’s happening now where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in the UK and US.”

The party has conflicted with the UK’s largest teaching union, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and described the leader as “a cheap imitation”.

Farage has accused Kebede of being “an avowed radical” … an individual intent that young minds be corrupted at school, their minds should be poisoned regarding national issues” and maintained that the union is trying to indoctrinate youth opposed to his party.

Almost one million people are employed in education in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The leading teachers’ organization has hundreds of thousands of members.

National strikes over teacher pay and conditions in recent years caused widespread disruption in schools and millions of days of lost learning for children.

During the American gathering, Farage also vowed to promote the online educational material of the Christian college in the UK. He said organizations like it were “key to resistance”, adding that: “I am serious. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of youth to these educational programs. I pledge this tonight and I will follow through.”

The college, a religious educational establishment, provides complimentary classes. Its website states: “Comprehensive learning is necessary for personal happiness and to perpetuate the blessings of freedom. The college furnishes these beautiful courses for no charge to all who wish to learn.”
